Media Event Entry 3

Hello!

Today is the Media Event!

The day is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am and finishes at 3:00 pm. Due to public transport the guests unfortunately arrived 15 minutes late which put our schedule 15 min behind. 



During the Ice Breakers the guests were spilt into two groups (group A and Group B). Group A were to go to the Green Screen room whilst Group B are to stay in the Presentation room to view the presentations. 



During the presentation Dean and I were relaxed the turn out for the event wasn't high at all and we presented to a total of 5. 

During the presentation I had been assessing the overall body language of the guests and 3 seemed to be interested and switched on, which made me relived that Dean and I were being clear in the way we both presented our information. 




At 12:45 we all took an hour out for lunch and reconvened for 1:45 as our Guest Speaker Ciaran O'Connor will come in and do a presentation. 

The Event came to an end at 3:15 pm. The guests filled out the evaluation forms. We all had received some really positive feed back from the guests. Their responses were that they loved the guest speaker and the Green Screen experiment. The one criticism we had was that one person thought that there should be some more interaction with the presentation. 

I personally thought that the day was fairly successful in the sense that the guests enjoyed the Green Screen and the Guest Speaker and that they learnt alot of information.

The only major hang up I have with the event is that I think that preparations should have taken place days in advance. Unfortunately due to lack of preparation the Green Screen broke down and the Technicians were called in to try and get it working again which cost time but fortunately the supervisors gave a little presentation to engage the guests so that they won't be fed up. 

We all pulled off an adequate event in the end!

Hello!

Today is the day before the event. I have been doing the preparations for my presentation which I'm doing with Dean, along with printing copies of the evaluation form. 

For the presentation Dean and I are going to present our behind the scenes documentary of a production company we both did for an assessment back in the first semester in 2009. 

The production company we both filmed was a radio station called Jack FM which is based in Bristol



The format of our presentation is that were both going to explain the assessment we were assigned to do along with the constraints we had. We would then both show a 3 minute sample of our documentary. At the end we would then ask for opinions/questions from our guests.

Hello!

We have all been assigned to host a Media Event where our guests would consist on BTEC Media Student from the City of Bath College



Out of our group we each have been assigned to different roles to help contribute our efforts to put on an excellent event. Meg became the Event Organizer (The Boss).

The roles I have allocated my self is to organize the Finances, do Presentations and set up an Evaluation form to be completed by our guests at the end of the event. 



Today I have been sorting out the budget for the Media Event. Total I was given to work to was £200 which isn't alot but enough to cater for such a small event. 

The main areas that I had to spend on was the Guest Speaker who Jess is organizing and the catering who Fiona and Dean are responsible for. 

Out of £200 I decided to give £75.00 for the guest speaker, £68.00 on the catering which then leaves us on £57.oo for additional expenses. 

I then looked into the cost of transport for our guests and I was concerned that for private hire it'll be around £220.00 which exceeds the  budget. I raised this concern with Meg for which she then decided that public transport would be a much better option for this situation.
